While it continues to be a strange time to celebrate just about anything, (other than those car parades for people’s birthdays while in quarantine...those are really sweet) we think it’s important to celebrate our team when the opportunity presents itself. And today is one of those days.

Rocket Insights has been named to Inc. magazine’s 2020 list of Best Workplaces. We were recognized out of more than 3,000 applicants and included along with 394 other finalists, which we’re pretty proud of.

If you’re not familiar with this list, it’s a measure of private companies in the U.S. that have “created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement and stellar benefits.” To qualify, we had to be nominated and then at least 70% of our employees had to complete a survey about topics like trust, management effectiveness, perks and confidence in the future.

This year, Inc. found that the strongest engagement scores from employees came from companies that prioritize employee recognition, performance and diversity rather than flashy so-called “fun” extras  like free food and ping pong tables.

That’s nice validation for us. We’ve always played by a different set of rules in trying  to create a culture at Rocket that is open, honest, and skips all the corporate mumbo jumbo. We treat people like adults, give them the freedom to show some initiative and make a difference, and partner them with great clients with interesting problems to solve. As such, our employee turnover rate is less than 3%.

2020 has brought about challenges like our world has never seen before, and will no doubt go down in history as one hell of a tough year. But, we’re able to crack a slight smile when we think about being recognized this year by the Boston Business Journal, Built in Boston, and now Inc. We’re a motley crew of smart, wildly sarcastic and mostly kooky folks who love a good debate and bust our asses for our clients. There’s no other group of people I’d want to be in the trenches of 2020 with right now.
